During his third missionary journey, Paul encountered a small group of Christian disciples in Ephesus. This interaction clearly highlights the way in which we are to come into Christ, thus becoming members of His body, the church. Peter declared the same message on the first Pentecost following Jesus’ death. ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ Acts 2:38.
